EL CEMENTERIO

A few meters from The Wall that separates El Paso TX from Ciudad Juarez, a cemetery of objects left behind were found on the Mexican side of the border. This series is part of the WHAT REMAINS project. This project speaks about the objects that immigrants carry up to the limit of their journey, right before crossing to the United States. The objects that once functioned as survival elements, in images done before inside the shelters and camps, now have to be disposed in order to cross. Dozens of clothes, shoes and plushie toys where found lying in the middle of the desert. Children are forced to leave behind their most important and loyal friend, their companion and protective object that has traveled with them through their unknown journey.
